NADA Online Photo Contest #4
NADA is having an Online Photo Contest for Spotted Discus!
The Rules:
This is a discus contest, not a photo contest.
Your discus will be judged using the judging criteria created by Dick Au (link to judging form below).
This show is open to hobbyist only - please no commercial breeders or vendors.
This show is for the class spotted discus.
You do not have to be a NADA member to participate in this show,
but you will have to live in North America to receive your prize.
We will be awarding gift certificates from Dr's Foster and Smith,
first place will be awarded a $25 gift certificate, second place will receive a $10
gift certificate, and third place will receive a $5 gift certificate. Canada residents will
receive Big Als gift certificates.
You can enter a maximum of 3 different discus.
You will need to supply two pictures of each discus you enter.
One picture will be the primary show picture. The second picture will be the same fish
facing the same direction but must include a piece of tape/paper/post-it on the tank with
the word "Steelers" on it. Both the fish and the word Steelers will have to be in the second picture.
(please see the example below).
Entries will be judged by 2 NADA sanctioned official judges.
Highest combined score from both scorecards will determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.
The contest will conclude on March 28th 2010 (pending enough entries).
Legal Stuff:
By entering the Contest, entrants agree to assign their intellectual property rights to NADA and permit NADA to use the photos in any media, including the Internet, for any purpose whatsoever. Entrants who do not agree to this use should not enter this Contest.
Entries must be original photos owned by the entrant.
NADA assumes no responsibility for entries it is unable to process due to network, hardware or other technical failures; or any other reason, or incomplete, damaged, misdirected, or lost entries.

Please send multiple entries in separate emails. You will receive a return email confirming your entry has been accepted.

Tips:
One fish per photo. Photograph the broadest side of the fish, with the fins erect.
Clean the water spots off the front of your tank before you take any pictures.
Also clean the algae from the inside of your glass.
If you have low available light and restricted flash usage you will need a fast lens.
Another fix for the low-light situation, bump your ISO up as high as you need to to get
somewhere between 1/30th and 1/60th shutter speed.
